Paladin Retirement, Augments, Nyzul Isle, KSNMs, and the Rules of Team Supremacy

I haven't done much in the game lately. Not enough to warrant a blog post. This is due to work and a decreased desire to play. Hopefully it'll get better soon!

First thing's first, my PLD is now in a state of temporary retirement. It will be removed from its retirement state when I get Atonement and an Iron Ram Hauberk.

Good night, sweet prince.

Anyway, on to the augments. Unfortunately, it's pretty lacking. A whopping two.

I'm attempting to make a RDM tanking set. Of course, Anubius probably won't let me actually tank, but I've got to find something to make me appreciate RDM more.

I did the new fairy augment with Flint the other night. I still have my PLD item traded in, so we should definitely do this sometime. According to people in our group, you apparently get gil items if you help without turning in an item. Also, we should do some Fields of Valor augments sometime as well.

Next, we did Nyzul Isle last night. We managed to get to floor 75 with help from Mike and William. Your help is greatly appreciated, guys.

In other news, I'm starting to get poor. I have about sixty kindred seals, so we should do some KS30s sometime. I'm up for Royale Ramble. Guaranteed O Ingots sound awesome to me.

Finally, I was thinking about the rules of Team Supremacy today. Here's what I've thought up so far.

You do not talk about Team Supremacy.
You do not talk about Team Supremacy.
You can not win without a heavy DD.
Disco is known as Dynas, and vice versa.
Small wangs are awarded to members using a weapon skill while the enemy is under the effect of Perfect Dodge or Invincible.

And before I go, here's some lulz:

The Masta Pran

A brog post with some actual substance. Here is my plan of action for the forseeable future (In no particular order):

  • Take Smithing to 60.
  • Take Alchemy to 76.
  • Floor 100 for Nyzul Isle.
  • Quest my Derg AF - I have pretty much all the keys now. Lost my QSC key, but I can easily get a new one.
  • Take Polearm to level 8 - I'm @4 with 2 merits currently on my person.
  • Get a Swift Belt - I have a pop item on my person.
  • Take Derg to 75.
  • Obtain N. Body.
  • Work on a Tinnin pop set - This must be done before Independence Day!

Dynas has told me that he doesn't mind if we climb without him, but I don't like the idea because I think this would be his only opportunity to climb. Nevertheless, I'm going to bring it up tomorrow and see what the others think, but I'm sure we will vote on waiting for him. He should be back in a week or so.

In RL news, I don't like my job. I'm a dishwasher at this diner close to home. It's convenient that I can easily walk to and from work, but the job itself is incredibly annoying. For starters, my boss drives me insane. He won't actually tell me how to do my job; he just points out that I'm not doing it right. I've basically been taught how to do my job from my coworkers because my boss refuses to tell me anything. On my first day, I spent half of my shift just learning where everything goes because he wouldn't tell me.

Also, I have quite a hilarious story. On my way home from work, I am sending Disco a text. Now, I wear glasses because I'm basically blind without them. As I am sending the text, I glance up. At this point, I'm not looking through the lenses, so I'm seeing with my naked eyes. I see this bright oval shaped light. So, I start tripping out because I think it's a UFO or something. I immediately move my head up so I can view it with my glasses on, and it's the new blimp that the Wind Creek Casino bought for the sake of advertising.

Progress!

Well, well! It appears some good fortune has come my way as of late!

First, I'll begin with the topic of the Nyzul Isle static! The static fought valiantly against the unseen horrors that only Nyzul Isle has to offer! The dreaded chariots reared their ugly heads quite a few times during our adventures, and were determined to prevent us from making any progress. Unfortunately, we failed two of our four runs. However, we did manage to reach Floor 30, and this is great news because I'm actually in a static that's making progress. In the past, I have wasted my time starting at Floor 1 several times in an effort to make progress in the long run, but we would often disperse before our second run. I'm glad I have a static of committed people! We've even agreed to meet twice a week: on Mondays and Fridays! Perhaps I'll be able to get Atonement in a few weeks!

Second, Dynamis - San d'Oria was unusually kind to me tonight! Yet, it is also very cruel! I was asked to come on Red Mage. Usually, this would cause me to fly into a blind rage, but considering I've come on a variety of jobs as of late, it was a nice change of pace. I was able to sub Black Mage. It was quite enjoyable being able to take care of sleeps, silencing mages, silencing pets, refreshing tanks, and backup healing. Composure makes this job so much easier in Dynamis. For my efforts, Dynamis gave me a wonderful pair of Wyrm Greaves that I won on free lot. Before that dropped, Argute Bracers dropped, and I was very pleased until the run was over and I noticed that I had to edit every single Scholar macro. Nevertheless, I can't wait to try them out in the future!

Finally, Odude gifted me Team Fortress 2 as a birthday present (which is on the 26th)! It's worthy to note that this is probably the best birthday present I've been given since my 18th birthday when my mom bought my Treasures of Aht Urhgan. TF2 is a really awesome game, and all of you should go buy it! We can have the whole Ventrilo server on a team! Wouldn't that be awesome?!

In closing, here is a quote from Belmont, who was on Onikirimaru:

Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver and Nyzul Static Day #2!

The official site for Pokémon HG/SS has gone live. Of course, it's the Japanese site, but that didn't stop me from taking a peek at what the site had up. Then, I noticed this:

What is this? They changed Crystal's appearance yet they left Silver's design basically the same. Crystal looks like a Mario-esque abomination. I've always complained that GameFreak seemed to purposely make the female trainers look more appealing because the designs for Brendan and Lukas from R/S/E and D/P/Pt, respectively, seemed so lame in comparison to May and Dawn. I was hoping that they would make the male trainers not look as... bland, but I wasn't expecting GameFreak to make Crystal fugly.

In other news! Last night was the Nyzul Isle static's second run. Technically, it's our first official run together, but who cares about the details! I am proud of everyone. We went in with four tags and managed to win three runs! We even had a chariot leader and a chariot family during one run, and we still managed to win! Dynas had to leave after the third run for RL stuff, but we managed to get the group to floor 20. Since Dynas left, we decided to use the last tag for a floor 20 boss run. Sonnus volunteered to be our TH, but we failed the run in the end.

However... we were determined not to leave empty handed:

Stop. Emo Time.

It appears that Icee and Liren aren't speaking to me after a comment I made about his lack of elemental staves. Apparently I'm elitest despite sacrificing time out of the last six months to help with missions I've long since completed. Is this the thanks I get? Sacrificing time to help others only to have them find fault with anything I say? Is it worth it? Am I overreacting? Perhaps I try too hard to keep friends in this game. Maybe I should stop sacrificing my time helping people that apparently don't appreciate my help. Bleh, I need a boat.

On a lighter note, special thanks goes to Sonnus for sacrificing over two hours of his time to help me break my dagger of trials. After wasting an hour of my time trying to solo the NM, it appears I fail at RDM solo. I guess I'll wait for someone to help me.

Also, Nyzul later tonight! The goal is to get to go from floor five to floor twenty with four tags. That shouldn't be too hard!

First FFXI Post!

I created this blog to create an archive of my FFXI activities, yet I have posted none until now!

I have been working on leveling Dragoon. I have leveled a tank job, a mage/pet job, and two mage jobs, so I am wanting to level a job that deals damage. I must say that I love it so far. It's kind of fun not having to worry about little things such as buffs, enfeebles, and things of that sort. My job in a party is to just deal damage, so it's a nice change of pace.

Also, since I have been leveling Dragoon, I have been working my polearm skill on Paladin because I'm sure my polearm skill will fall behind due to level sync parties.

In other news, I have successfully created a Nyzul Isle static. I have been feeling pretty bummed out about my Nyzul progress. I have done all of this hard work on my Paladin lately, but all of the work seems useless without Atonement. Also, since I'm leveling Dragoon, Drakesbane would be kind of nice. The Nyzul static consists of Discojedi, Dynas, Chewzer, Emerican, Leondimas, and myself. We only did two runs and got Chew and Emerican to Floor 5, but our first run was to get used to each other. Disco was not there because he had some real life obligations. Overall, I was very impressed with our work, and we would have won the second run if it wasn't for that lamp floor.
